1. Who we are
This policy explains how Approvals Canada ("we", "us"), operated by Allstar Auto Finance Ltd., handles personal information collected through approvalscanada.ca, our credit application, and by phone. Approvals Canada helps Canadians get approved for vehicle financing and into a vehicle. We work with you directly: we take your application, obtain your credit report with your consent, submit your application to our lending partners, and arrange your vehicle through our dealer partners. We are not a lender. Our mailing address is 329 Howe St, Unit #768, Vancouver, BC V6C 3N2.
Our Privacy Officer can be reached at info@approvalscanada.ca or by calling +1 587 330 4158.
2. What we collect
When you send a request, we collect what you enter:
- What you need (for example a car loan), the amount or monthly budget, and your province or territory.
- Your credit situation, as a rough range you choose yourself.
- Your name, email address and phone number.
- A record that you gave consent, and when.
We also collect basic technical information when you visit, such as your device and browser type, the pages you view and your approximate location from your IP address. If you call us, we keep notes of the call. Calls may be recorded for quality and training purposes, and we will tell you at the start of the call.
We may also receive your information from third-party marketplaces and lead providers where you submitted a request, such as vehicle and financing websites. We use it only to contact you about vehicle financing.
Our initial request form does not ask for your Social Insurance Number, bank details or card numbers. If you complete a credit application, we may collect additional information needed to process it. A lender may ask for more information later, under its own privacy policy.
3. How we use it and why
- To work your application with our lending partners and arrange your vehicle through our dealer partners.
- To contact you about your request, by phone, text or email, where you have agreed.
- To run, secure and improve this website, and to prevent fraud and misuse.
- To meet our legal and regulatory duties.
We use your information only for these purposes unless we tell you otherwise and, where the law requires, ask for your consent first. Sharing your application with lenders and dealers is how our service works. We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it with lenders and dealers only to process the application you submit.
4. Your consent
We ask for your consent when you send a request. You can withdraw it at any time, subject to legal and contractual limits, by contacting our Privacy Officer. If you withdraw consent, we may not be able to continue working your application. Withdrawing consent does not undo what a lender or dealer has already received. Contact them directly.
Under Canada's anti-spam law, we send commercial messages only with your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can reply STOP to a text to opt out, or HELP for help.
5. Text messages (SMS and RCS)
If you opt in, Approvals Canada will send text messages about your vehicle financing application, such as request confirmations, application status updates, document requests and follow-ups from our team, and occasional offers and promotions from Approvals Canada. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to cancel at any time. You will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed, and no further messages will be sent unless you opt in again. If you change or deactivate your mobile number, please let us know or reply STOP from the old number. You can also contact us at info@approvalscanada.ca or +1 587 330 4158. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using our service. Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages. See our Terms of Service for full messaging terms.
6. Who we share it with
- Lenders, vehicle dealers and their service providers, so they can assess your application, arrange your vehicle and contact you. Once a lender or dealer has your information, its own privacy policy applies to its use.
- Service providers that help us run the business, such as hosting, messaging (Twilio) and customer-management (GoHighLevel) providers. They may use your information only to provide services to us, under contract.
- Professional advisers and authorities, such as lawyers, auditors, regulators and law enforcement, where required or permitted by law.
- A buyer or successor, if our business is sold or reorganised, under confidentiality terms.
Text messaging consent. Mobile phone numbers and SMS/RCS opt-in data and consent are not shared with, sold to, or rented to any third parties, including lenders, dealers and affiliates, for their marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Lenders and dealers that contact you do so under their own consent and privacy policies, not the text messaging consent you gave Approvals Canada.
7. Credit information
With your consent, we obtain your credit report from Equifax to assess your application. If you only send a request on this website and do not consent to a credit check, no credit report is obtained. A lender may use a soft check, which does not affect your credit score, or a hard check, which can lower it slightly. Ask which one before you agree.
8. Where your information is kept
Our website is hosted by Hostinger in the United States. Our request-processing service, including the credit application and form/chat service, runs on Hetzner in Finland. Some service providers, including our messaging and customer-management providers, store or process information in the United States. When your information is stored or processed outside Canada, it is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts and authorities. If you live in Quebec, we assess the privacy risks of such transfers as the law requires.
9. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, to respond to follow-up requests, and to meet legal duties. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see "Your rights").
10. How we protect it
We use reasonable physical, technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted connections to this website and restricted access to personal information. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
11. Cookies and analytics
At the time of writing, this website does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. If we add analytics or advertising tools, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
12. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it.
- Correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Stop using or delete your information, where the law allows.
- Withdraw your consent.
Write to our Privacy Officer. We will answer within 30 days. If you live in Quebec, you may also ask for your information in a structured, commonly used format. We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, to your provincial regulator, or in Quebec to the Commission d'accès à l'information.
13. Children
This website is for adults who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. For material changes we will give a clearer notice, and we will ask for fresh consent where the law requires it.
